Welcome to the Wyld Expeditions Volunteer Program. By joining us, you are taking an important step toward contributing to vital wildlife conservation efforts in South Africa. Our program offers hands-on experience in supporting animal care, wildlife rewilding and rescue. Whether you’re here to gain valuable skills or to make a meaningful impact, we are grateful for your commitment and excited to work alongside you. Together, we can help protect and preserve the incredible wildlife that depends on our efforts.
Below you have information about different tier options accordingly to your needs!
All our packages includes:
- Food
- Accommodation (shared room in shared house - max two people sharing)
- Transfer from and to the airport (OR TAMBO)
Accommodation is a shared farm house, beautiful and comfortable with nice dining and living area where you guys can enjoy a game or a good conversation in the evenings.
The guesthouse has a wonderful yard that also has dogs staying there, whom not only offer affection and company but also protection in the night as they are guard dogs.
We also have our resident Wolf Fenrir residing with you in the yard of the guesthouse.
In the guesthouse you will be provided a private room (except the budget tier) in a cozy setting. There is a TV with a playstation which may be used and you can also stream on the TV or watch YouTube.
There is books provided if you prefer to read a book on your own and there is games if you’d like to play together.
Food is provided, breakfast and lunch items are provided and you will prepare it yourself in a fully equipped kitchen. Dinners are cooked for you! Food is mainly plant based, but with some exceptions.
We also eat out at lodge and restaurants to see some of out local treasures and enjoy the time to the fullest - this is also included besides any alcohol!
You will enjoy 1,5 off days where you can have a nice sleep in and relax! You will also have your activities (if your tier has activities) planned on an appropriate day and will get to enjoy safari’s and elephant sanctuary visits!
Volunteering tiers
Budget Volunteer
This is our cheapest option, if you would like to try volunteering but do not have a big budget or just curious to try.
This package includes:
- Food
- Accommodation (shared room in shared house - max two people sharing per room)
- Transfer from and to the airport (OR TAMBO)
- 1 Safari with professional guide
- Visit to the elephant sanctuary with interaction
Excludes:
- Visa fees if applicable
- Flights
- Snacks, drinks and alcohol
Expectations: Join all the work hours and at least 2 times a week will be some projects that can be considered a bit strenuous at times.
Does meat work and participates in all the food preparations.
PRICE: 1350USD per week
Minimum commitment 2 weeks
Regular Volunteer
This is our most popular volunteer package for you who want the full experience!
This package includes:
- Food
- Accommodation (private room in shared house)
- Transfer from and to the airport (OR TAMBO)
- 1 Safari with professional guide
- Visit to the elephant sanctuary with interaction + elephant walk
- Horseback ride on the farm
- Trip to a golf estate for mini golf & a meal
Excludes:
- Visa fees if applicable
- Flights
- Snacks, drinks and alcohol
Expectations: Join the work hours, but can skip out on the farm routines once you have tried it out and learned it.
At least 2 times a week will be some projects that can be considered a bit strenuous at times.
Can skip out on meat work and food preparation if wanted.
PRICE: 1950USD per week
Minimum commitment 2 weeks
VIP Volunteer
Luxury volunteering like never before!
Enjoy volunteering on your own terms, and in the best way possible.
This package includes:
- Food
- Accommodation (our best private room in shared house)
- 2 night stay inside Game Reserve and with self drive safaris guided by Lisa!
- Transfer from and to the airport (OR TAMBO)
- 2 Safaris with professional guide (sunset safari + either walking safari/ riding safari)
- Visit to the elephant sanctuary with interaction + elephant walk
- Mini fridge with snacks, drinks and sweets stocked up during your stay
- Tea and coffee station in your room
- Horseback ride on the farm
- Private Cheetah Run Picnic (with the other VIP volunteers)
- Trip to a golf estate for mini golf & a meal
- One day working with Vervet Monkeys
- Gets “dibs” on assisting on raising any orphan wildlife that comes into the sanctuary!
